  Two years ago I woke up with a sharp pain in my left eye and was unable to open it. After applying warm compresses I was able to open it. I went to the eye doctor and was diagnosed with dry eye. After seeing two ophthalmologists, a surgeon, and my optometrist, my eyes were still the same. Then my husband contracted pink eye and went to see Dr. Teser. He told her what I had been going through, and with no resolution. Dr. Teser understood what I was going through because she also suffers from dry eye. I went to see her and she said we have to start treatment from the beginning. We did, and none of the initial treatments were working. Then she started to think “outside the box”. Due to my severe dry eye I had damaged the surface of my eye, and every time it started to heal, I would sleep and re-damage it. She applied a stem cell membrane to my left eye, the worst of the two, and covered it with a contact lens. I kept it in for a week, and months later I still have no pain! We waited a few weeks to make sure the relief lasted, and then did the same to my right eye. Again, as of today, no pain. I will always have dry eyes, but with this procedure the dry eye discomfort is now manageable. I will always be grateful to Dr. Teser for thinking outside the box, for never giving up, for always staying up to date with all the latest research, and, most of all, for showing genuine care and concern for her patients. She is an amazing eye doctor who even calls her patients not once but twice to see how they are doing. She has a beautiful modern office in Fairfax with an excellent, professional, and caring staff. She is now our whole family’s eye doctor. I can’t say enough about the phenomenal Dr. Teser!
